TOLERANCE DAY

Today 2017

Thank you so much to everyone who took part in ToDay 2017. We've had amazing feedback from both teachers and children and we're very excited about developing the programme for next year.

In 2017 we built on 2016 materials on religious tolerance and valuing diversity to explore how children understand information, with a series called the Truth Detectives.

Only by developing the skills to assess information and fight bias can we underpin the practice of tolerance effectively. We must teach our children to question and explore, source and assess information and make their own decisions based on fact.

Quotes from participants in ToDay:
'Hats off to you for producing such a thoughtful and inclusive programme for the day.”
"We loved the day and I overheard one boy, after the Sneetches session, saying that this was the best day ever!  Also had some amazing responses even from our really little children.  Thank you for all the resources on the website etc, and for letting us be involved.”
"Lessons from historical and present day world events demonstrate that intolerance can have terrible consequences. Schools have an opportunity to teach open-mindedness, empathy and responsibility, and your resources that help do this within the core curriculum are most welcome.”
